You hear a lot of things about double-barrel shotguns: the only ones moving are the small bores, restored is as good as new, American 12 gauges are dead, this is investment grade, and on and on. Most of these statements hold very little water. But “Condition is King” is something else you also hear and this auction looks like it’s going to prove that it’s true.

This 12 gauge A.H. Fox BE double barrel shotgun is up for auction on Gunbroker.com. It has 30″ Krupp steel barrels and a ton of original condition. Just take a look at the checkering and the engraving. That’s about as clean as a vintage American side-by-side shotgun gets.
