Best-quality British shotguns are famous for being “bespoke”, or made to your specifications. Within reason, if you want it, you can have it — from weight, barrel length, and trigger pulls to custom engraving, gold inlays and even diamond tipped sights and platinum highlights. If you can pay, the maker will play.
Here are a couple records for a set of 28 gauge Boss shotguns – one over under and one side by side. These guns were ordered by the same customer on the same day, and it’s interesting to see how specific he was with certain features of his guns.
A couple of things caught my eye: the details for the shaping of the stocks, the note for the guns to be “slightly muzzle heavy”, and the request for a “dull oil finish”.
