William Rochester Pape 10 Ga 3″ Nitro Proofed SBS Double Engraved Game Scenes William Ford Barrels: This 10 gauge wears the serial number of 10319 which dates it right at the turn of the century. It wears 26” steel barrels that have excellent bores with no issues, 3” chambers with ejectors. They have been refinished at some time with the bluing being is very fine condition. There are few small spots of pitting showing under the finish and one larger spot on the right barrel as pictured. The barrels are marked “WILLIAM FORD / 15 St. MARY’S ROW. BIRMINGHAM.” They are not numbered to the shogun but are “Nitro Proofed”; 3″ for 1 1/2 ounce load. The right barrel is .015 (modified), the left .035 (full). The forearm is marked with the serial number and initials “W.R.P.”. It shows several marks and dings but is solid with no cracks. The butt stock is in the same condition with a L.O.P. of 14 ¾”, 1 5/8” at the comb and 2 1/8” at the heel. The receiver is marked with the manufactures name “W.R. PAPE” on both sides. The left side shows fine scroll work with a dog and pheasants. The right shows a dog and quail. On the bottom is matching scroll work with a Partridge. The water table is marked “W.R. PAPE / Proof / 10319” on both sides. The shotgun weighs right at 7 ½ pounds with the action tight on face. Price: $2,499
