Stunning near mint all original E.J. Churchill Imperial Model SLE 20ga W/case and factory letter – appears as new and unfired:
Easily the single finest Churchill I have handled! This is a wonderful 20ga finished in 1948 and built with 26-1/2″ barrels that have Churchill rib. Splinter forend with Anson type push button is nicely checkered with finely engraved irons. The gun was made with single trigger, auto ejectors, and auto safety. Gun is beautifully full coverage scroll and game scene engraved as seen in the photos. The trigger guard and plate are beautifull blued and engraved as well with rolled edge trigger guard. Buttstock is very nicely  figured and perfectly laid out best English Walnut with straight grip, gold inlaid shield on toe line, and terminates with a spectacular factory engraved skeleton buttplate. Gun is housed in a contemporary full leather case with makers trade label as seen in the photos. Accompanied by a factory letter on the gun from 1998 outlining the gun as found today. See makers research letter in photos for full details on the production of this gun! The gun remains in near mint all original condition with virtually all factory original finishes remaining throughout. The gun appears to have been factory test fired and remains virtually unused since then. Bores are brilliant and shiny. Mechanics are perfect. Gun is very tight just as it was when made! Case is excellent to near mint. Price: $31,950*

John Wilkes 28g boxlock SxS with exquisite engraving and features and also a long length of pull
John Wilkes 28g boxlock SxS with exquisite engraving and features and also a long length of pull

John Wilkes 28g boxlock SxS with exquisite engraving and features and also a long length of pull: Boxlocks – Built between the wars (1928) this little 28g. has many hard-to-find features as well as wonderful wood and engraving. The game scene engraving, the high grade wood, and the long length of pull make this petite flower a rare find. Wilkes was a highly respected London gun maker. Serial Number: 10181 Ejectors: Yes Barrels: 26″ Barrel Type: Steel Action: Boxlock Ejector Gauge: 28 gauge Stock Comb: 1 7/16″ Stock Heel: 2 3/16″ Stock Cast: 1/8″ LOP: 15″ Weight: 5 lbs 14 ozs Choke Left: .018 full in 28g Choke Right: .013″ Mod Proof:Nitro: 2 3/4″ Minimum Wall Thickness Left: .032″ Minimum Wall Thickness Right: .033.  It is said in the UK that of all the double guns built there before WWII that 90% were 12g. guns. The next most common gauge among the remaining 10% were 20g. guns, the next were 16g. guns, and the next .410 doubles. Interesting that 28g. were the smallest and rarest gauge of guns built in the UK during this period. This explains why they are so hard for us to find and why it is common when we are searching for them that when asking a dealer they often say “Dont you know that 28g. guns made in the UK are rare as rocking horse shit?” Price: $12,600*

L.C. Smith Skeet Special rare 20 Ga SxS made in 1934
L.C. Smith Skeet Special rare 20 Ga SxS made in 1934

L.C. Smith Skeet Special rare 20 Ga SxS made in 1934: Collectors, this is a seldom seen and almost never sold piece of shotgun history. It is a L.C. Smith Skeet Special 20 Ga made in 1934. Only 123 were manufactured in 20-gauge between 1926 and 1948. This excellent condition shotgun has a splinter fore-end, ivory bead and bright, London Steel, 26-inch barrels bored Skeet 1 and Skeet 2. It is a superb handling, straight-gripped Featherweight (FWE) with automatic ejectors. The barrels have been rust-blued. Otherwise, the finish is original, and a great deal of case-coloring remains. It is the ultimate bird or small gauge skeet gun. I am selling this one on consignment and as such lay-a-way can’t be used. It does of course have the standard 3-day inspection. Price: $6,799*
