Rare Lightweight 12 ga Purdey Game Gun with 25″ bbls: You are looking at a rare and an unusual Purdey gun. Unlike this gun, most if not all “funeral” or “black” Purdey guns were sent out with the expectation that they will return to London to be finished per buyer’s taste. This gun was ordered in blued steel and gold lettering with minimal engraving. Copy of the Purdey dimension book entry for the gun and the actioner’s work order from Peter Nelson can be found in the pictures. Orginally a 2 1/2″ gun, the chambers were lengthened to 2 3/4″ (3 1/4 tons) and the gun re-proofed in London in 1986. Built on the Beesly action, this high condition self-opener ejector game gun sports 25″ barrels and an automatic safety. The gun was manufactured in 1964 and comes in its original Purdey lightweight leather motor case. Finished by Alan Dudley, stocked by Anthony Rule, barrels by Jack Aldous, and actioned by Peter Nelson. Price: $27,000*

Webley & Scott Model 720 20GA 26” English Made IN MAKERS CASE 6 Pounds! Up for sale is a very nice Webley & Scott Model 720, chambered in 20GA. This fine game gun comes housed in its original maker’s case with snap caps & rose wood cleaning rod. From the little research I have done, this was the 99th Webley to arrive in the US in the late 1960’s or early 1970’s. The leather covered pad (Purdy Style) was replaced by Griffin & Howe at a cost of 750 dollars. The Action retains 98% case colors. The barrels are tight on face. The bluing on the barrels is about 95%, they do have a scratch in the finish towards the muzzle on the right barrel. The pictures show it well. The LOP from the front trigger is 14 ¾. Slight Cast Off. DAC 1 3/8. DAH 2 3/8. 26’’ Barrels with Fixed chokes of IC & Mod. Solid Game rib with mead bead. Pristine Bores & Chamber. 3’’ Chamber. Auto Ejectors. This tips the scale 6 pounds.
