JP Sauer – A&F Model 100 – SxS – 12 Gauge – UNFIRED – July 1937
JP Sauer – A&F Model 100 – SxS – 12 Gauge – UNFIRED – July 1937

JP Sauer – A&F Model 100 – SxS – 12 Gauge – UNFIRED – July 1937: For your consideration is this 84-year-old JP Sauer side-by-side with great dimensions in 99% condition (including case colors, wood finish, barrel bluing).  I’ve had 3 multi-decade gun collectors look at this gun and they all agree this gun remains in UNFIRED condition (there are NO PRIMER MARKS on the action around the firing pins).  This area is clearly viewable in one of the photos.  There a few very minor handling marks, also viewable in the photos, but you’ll have to look pretty hard to find them!  Serial Number 322,234.  The wood on this gun is far nicer than normal for a field grade gun. The center of the rib is engraved with “Abercrombie & Fitch Co., New York, N.Y. U.S. Agents.”  As I wanted to know more about the history of this gun, I contacted Griffin & Howe’s research department.  They were extraordinarily helpful and provided the following: 2 informational letters (5 pages total), 2 photographs of the actual Abercrombie & Fitch handwritten ledger when the gun was in their inventory, 27 additional pages of detailed (and very interesting) research on the various individual owners of this gun throughout the year This is very fun and enjoyable information (and providence) to have on a gun in one’s collection.  All of this research comes with the gun. Great Dimensions: Weight – 6 lb 8 oz Overall Length – 42 inches Barrel Length – 26 inches Drop at Comb – 1 9/16 inches Drop at Heal – 2 ½ inches Cast – 0 inches Length of Pull – 14 ¼ inches Chamber Length – 2 5/8 inches (only 1/8 inch from 2 3/4 if you want to lengthen the chamber) Left Choke – loose full Right Choke – improved cylinder Ejectors – strong and in time Any collector of MINT side-by-sides and/or Pre-War German Guns will enjoy having this gun in their collection. Price: $4,500*
