A lot of people think double-barrel shotguns are too expensive. While nice shotguns aren’t cheap, you can buy plenty of side-by-sides and over-unders for less than what a new Benelli autoloader costs. Here are a couple of these bargain bird guns. All three are on the market right now:
For guys who likes the classics, this 20 gauge Ithaca NID is perfect for grouse, woodcock, and quail. Ithaca’s NIDs are sort of the F150 of the vintage shotgun world – rugged, reliable, and no frills (I’m talking the cheapest F150s). This one appears to be in decent original condition, and at $995 it’s fairly priced.
If you O/Us are more your style, this 20 gauge Beretta BL-4 is worth checking out. It’s on Gunbroker.com now and the listing ends on 7/27/2014 @ 10:02:36 PM ET.

For guys looking for something different, this Ruger Red Label in 28 gauge is odd enough to catch attention but still versatile enough to use all season. This one is also on Gunbroker.com now and the listing ends 7/27/2014 @ 5:28:45 PM.
