This is a very rare and vintage factory original Union Armera Model 5000 (De Gran Lujo) “Extra Light” manufactured in Eibar, Spain. Later to be known as Grulla.
The Union Armera Model 5000 “Extra Light” Custom Rifle was the flagship offering in 1943, hand-crafted to be handed down generation to generation. As a full custom sidelock, every detail, component and feature was subject to the highest standards and specifications. From German silver nameplate, to premier grade steel barrels to the fanciest European walnut available. No expense was spared. Full Belgian floral engraving and exquisite hand checkered walnut. A true Castilian “Old World Masterpiece”.
Union Armera (Grulla) 20 Gauge. this gun was made by Union Amera In 1943 for the Spanish version of Abecrombie & Finch, SEAM. (Sociedad Espanola de Armas Municiones). A SEAM catalogue from that time period indicates this was their top of the line offering – A Modelo 5000 “Extra Light”. The gun has every attribute of a “Best Gun”: Chopper Lump Barrels, 100% fine floral or Belgian style engraving, hidden third fastener, disk set strikers, articulated front trigger, gold plated Holland & Holland pattern locks (Made by AyA), reinforced action, ejectors, horn buttplate and drop points. True to its designation, this shotgun has a special top rib and weighs 5.5 lbs. The perfect upland game gun.
