Wow – now here’s a nice American shotgun that’s up for auction. It’s 20 gauge A.H. Fox CE grade with a straight grip and its original hang tags. The auction starts tomorrow, April 20, at 10AM ET. The only bad news is that the auction is at place called Switzer’s Auction & Appraisal Service in Bancroft, Ontario — about 3 hours from Watertown, NY, and Toronto, Canada.
She’s #203617, making her a Savage-era gun from about 1935. Fox’s CE grade was a middle to upper grade double for Fox, and they’re very hard to find in 20 gauge.

Here’s the info on it from the auctioneer: A.H. Fox CE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun. #203617. 20 gauge. Engraved Receiver, Curly Walnut Stock, Diamond Cut Checkering, 24″ Barrels, Pull 13 3/4″ Choked: Left 1/4, Right: I.C., Noted as “Plantation Quail Gun”. Beautiful and rare. Original sales ticket and pattern tag.
