I’ve always loved these sidelock Browning SxSs shotguns. Not only are they great looking, but they’re also very well made. Built in Japan by Miroku, they’ve earned a reputation for high-quality at a relatively low price. With high-quality locks, excellent metal-to-metal fit, and nice wood & checking, it’s easy to see why.
Rock Island Auction Company has this one. It’s one of the nice doubles coming up tomorrow, 12/8, 2019, in their December 2019 Premiere Firearms Auction – Day 3. According to Rock Island’s description (pasted in below), it’s a pretty original gun. The estimate is $1,700 to $2,750. If you can buy it in that range, it will be a bargain.
Browning BSS Sidelock Side by Side 20 Gauge Shotgun: Factory Engraved Browning BSS Side Lock Side by Side 20 Gauge Shotgun. Single steel bead sight on the smooth, concave rib barrels with standard markings, 2 3/4 inch chambers, modified/full chokes, automatic ejectors, and light engraving around the breech. Bright coin finished action and lock plates with finely executed rose and scroll engraving, double triggers, manual sliding tang safety, and matching engraving on the trigger guard and tangs. Checkered splinter forearm with Anson style latch, engraved fittings, and straight grip stock with blank initial oval and skip-line checkered bare butt. The length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Excellent overall. 99% original polished blue finish remains with some light handling marks, crisp engraving, sharp checkering, and some very small dings on the wood. Mechanically excellent.
