Ithaca’s Flues-model shotguns are far from the pretty side-by-sides I’ve ever seen. Clunky and as sleek as a shoe box, they don’t have the snakey look of a Fox or classic proportions of a Parker. But there is something about the Flues that I really like. Check out this 3E Flues you see her to see what I mean. With its damascus barrels, clouds of original color case hardening, and great engraving, it’s a handsome gun and one I would be proud to call my own.
Ithaca’s introduced their Flues model in 1908 as an update to their previous Minier-model side by sides. Ithaca made a ton of Flues — about 223,000 in all – before the design was replaced by the Ithaca NID.
