Twenty-gauge side-by-sides are hard to beat as upland guns. Lightweight, and with the capacity to throw all the lead you’ll need for grouse and woodcock, it’s easy to understand why they’re the go-to shotguns for so many hunters.
This 20 gauge V. Bernardelli Gamecock Premier on Gunsinternational.com is nearly new, and at $1895 it’s not a bad deal. With chrome lined bbls, 3″ chambers, and modern steel throughout, it’s built to take just anything you throw it’s way. Vincenzo Bernardelli, of Brescia Italy, made guns from 1721 to 1997. A number of companies imported them into the US. This little 20 was brought in by Sloan’s Sporting Good of Ridgefield, CT.
BTW: don’t be fooled by the sideplates on this shotgun. It’s a boxlock, not a sidelock.
