Halliday of London Cased 12 gauge Two-Inch Boxlock 5 lbs 5 oz
Halliday of London Cased 12 gauge Two-Inch Boxlock 5 lbs 5 oz

Halliday of London Cased 12 gauge Two-Inch Boxlock 5 lbs 5 oz: A very good little two-inch boxlock non-ejector by B. Halliday, built circa 1940’s.  The barrels are 28″ with 2″ chambers and very good bores, choked .003/.033 (about skeet/full).  The rib is engraved: B. HALLIDAY & CO. 63. CANNON ST. LONDON. E.C. and the tubes are engraved: FOR 2 INCH CASE ONLY and THE 20TH CENTURY GUN.  The receiver has the maker’s name in a flowing banner surrounded by simple border and scroll engraving.  There are traces of case colors still present.  The action locks up tight.  The fore-end has an Anson push-rod release.  The lightly figured stock measures 1 5/8″ x 2 1/8″ x 14 5/8″ with cast off.  The stock was originally shortened by 1 1/2″ (likely for a young shooter), and the original piece was later added.  It was done very well.  The weight is 5 lbs 5 oz.  A very nice double for the aficionado of 2 inch guns. Comes in its maker’s case. Price: $3995

Beautiful high condition nitro proved Bar In wood Westley Richards “Crab knuckle” 12 bore – An ultra lightweight hammer gun with original case

Beautiful high condition nitro proved Bar In wood Westley Richards “Crab knuckle” 12 bore – An ultra lightweight hammer gun with original case:
Made in 1871, this beautiful early Westley Richards 12bore hammer gun.  Made with 30″ nitro proved damascus barrels, checkered splinter forend which is wedge fastened.  Made with crab knuckle joint at forend and bar in wood action.  Side plates are nicely scroll engraved as seen in the photos.  Made with double triggers and extractors.  Straight hand fiddle back figured English buttstock is nicely checkered in two point pattern through the wrist and terminates with its original checkered horn buttplate.  Housed in its original oak and leather case with felt interior. Overall the gun remains in excellent condition with fine mechanics.  The nitro proved barrels are excellent and retain most of an older rebrown.  Bores are bright.  Stocks are sound and retain nearly all of their older hand rub finish.  The locks are excellent and crisp.  The gun is nice and tight.  Case is very good with the interior having been restored long ago.  Exterior shows age and original name on top is somewhat illegible.  Price: $3695
