Here’s a great way to get into vintage doubles. This side-by-side is an “A” Grade A.H. Fox. It’s in the greatest gauge — 16 — and it has a hard-to-find round-knob grip. It even comes with what appears to be its original hang tag. It’s on Gunbroker.com now and the listing ends tomorrow, 12/6/2017, @ 2:32 PM.
This sxs is a true A.H. Fox, made in Philadelphia, PA, by the original company before it was bought by Savage Arms in 1929. Back when it was made, it was low-grade model. That being said, the company claimed “You can search through the world’s gun market and not find a better, truer shotgun at the price than the “A” Grade FOX.” Perhaps.
BTW: Be sure you check out this gun thoroughly before bidding. It’s listed as an “AS IS” sale. So there are no refunds or exchanges if you get it.
Ansley H. Fox 16ga. Side by Side. 28″brls. Grade “A”. Good Condition. Bores Very Good Condition. Six digit serial numbers #302XXX
