If you’re a genuine New England pa’tridge hunter with a romantic streak in you, your shotgun is a probably a Parker. If you don’t have one yet, this 16g VHE is worth considering. From what I can see, it’s pretty much the perfect Parker for a New England pa’tridge hunting. It’s a later gun, so it has all the refinements the company made to its doubles, and the stock appears to have pretty decent dimensions. PARKER VHE 16 GA. #1 FRAME 28″BARRELS W/EJECTORS: Extra nice Parker VHE, 16 Ga. #1 Frame, 28” Barrels with ejectors, I believe choked F/IC. Double triggers, Pistol grip stock capped with Parker Bros/Meriden Conn. SN # 237XX5, Manufactured in 1935 – 1936, the first or second year after Remington purchased Parker Brothers, (June 15, 1934). This gun is all original with original dog head butt plate. Measurements: (as close as possible) Front trigger: LOP 14” To Heel 14-18” To Toe 14-/2” Rear Trigger: LOP 13-/8” To Heel 13-14” To Toe 13-3/4” This gun is in overall Very Good to Excellent Condition, Barrels very good condition bluing estimated at 80% no scratches but several very light pit marks. Forend in very good condition very few scratches and very light digs. Stock is beautiful wood wood with light scratches and quite a few very small digs. Butt plate has a very small chip on left side center. Gun locks up tight, good ejectors, bores are very bright and clean, excellent condition. Scale weight 7Lbs.
