J. Purdey SxS Double Rifle: Underlever chambered for the 577-500 No. 2 BPE cartridge. Rifle was made in 1873 for E.H. Buxton. Weight 9 lbs 12 oz with 29 inch damascus barrels. Stunning pattern on barrels. Bores remain in excellent shape with very little minor pitting inside. Rifling is crisp and shiny. Has island back action locks with some case color remaining. Has beautiful sharp engraving. Underlever is the trigger guard and locks into lower tang. Action is tight on face. Stock is in excellent shape and may have been refinished at some time. Forend is tenion mounted. Perfect wood to metal fit. Price: $16,000
